RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Punjab Rangers have conducted over 200 search operations in various areas of Punjab and apprehended more than 600 suspects besides killing four terrorists as part of the ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’.

In a statement issued in Rawalpindi on Saturday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’ continues across the Country.

The ISPR said that Punjab Rangers conducted over 200 search operations in various areas of Punjab including Karor, Layyah and Rawalpindi; wherein suspected houses, Madrassas and shops were searched.

It said that during the search operations, four terrorists were killed in exchange of fire with Punjab Rangers personnel while over 600 suspects including few Afghans and facilitators of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar apprehended.

The ISPR said that Jihadi material and weapons were also recovered during the operations.

Sources said that four terrorists were killed in Muzaffargarh area of southern Punjab. They said that most of the successes were gained by Rangers in southern Punjab, adding that a large number of weapons were also recovered during the search operations in the region.

On February 22, Pakistan army launched the ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’ across the Country, aimed at indiscriminately eliminating residual / latent threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders.

The ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’ followed a series of terrorist attacks in various parts of the Country including in Lahore, Sehwan Sharif and Peshawar in which over 100 people got martyred.
