RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday said that Pakistan would make no compromise in its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Hunar Dost at the army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi at which they discussed regional security situation and matters of mutual interests, the COAS said that Pakistan gave importance to its historic relations with Iran.

The COAS said that Pakistan army greatly valued historical relationship between the two brotherly Countries which could never be compromised on any cost, the ISPR said in a press release.

The Army Chief said that enhanced bilateral military to military cooperation between Pakistan and Iran would have positive impact on the regional peace.

In his remarks, the Iranian ambassador appreciated Pakistan army’s contributions towards regional peace and stability. He also expressed his appreciation for the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad for elimination of terrorism from Pakistan.
