Excellent performances of Shoaib Malik and Muhammad Hafeez with the bat helped Pakistan clinch ninth consecutive bilateral series victory over West Indies at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Tuesday.

Which chasing 234 runs target, Pakistani top order once again struggled and eventually green shirts lost three quick wickets for just 36 runs. Kamran Akmal got out on 0 in very first ball followed by Ahmed Shahzad’s wicket who was caught behind for 3.

The last match Centurion Babar Azam looked good and hit three beautiful boundaries but then was bowled by Shannon Gabriel on 16 runs.

However the subsequent 113-run partnership between Muhammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik consolidated Pakistan’s position. Hafeez got out on 81 while Malik completed his ninth ODI Century and scored unbeaten 101 runs.

The Captain Sarfraz Ahmed also scored 26 runs without losing his wicket.

In the end, Pakistan reached the target with 6 wickets in hand in 43.1 overs. With the victory in third ODI, Pakistan also won the three-match series 2-1.

Earlier batting first, West Indies scored 233 runs in stipulated 50 overs. Shai Hope and Jason Mohammed remained top scorers for the Host with 71 and 59 runs respectively.

For Pakistan, Muhammad Amir, Junaid Khan and Shadab Khan bagged 2 wickets each while Hasan Ali and Imad Wasim got 1 wicket each.

Shoaib Malik was awarded Man of the Match award for his brilliant Century which led Pakistan to register its 460th win in ODI History, second most by any team.
