ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday directed the Ministry of Water and Power to use all the available resources to produce energy as the difficulties of the public would not be tolerated.
In a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy held in Islamabad, the prime minister expressed resentment over the issue of load-shedding, and said that the Ministry of Water and Power had ruined their four years efforts.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Water and Power Khawaja Asif, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi and senior officials of concerned ministries.
The meeting reviewed the ongoing energy crisis and alternative arrangements while the Ministry of Water and Power gave briefing on energy production and its demand.
The prime minister said that all resources should have been utilized to overcome energy shortfall.
“No laziness or mismanagement will be tolerated,” the prime minister said.
