RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan has said that it remains fully committed to maintain peace and tranquility along the Line of Control (LoC).

It was conveyed to India when a local commanders level hotline contact was established last night at Rawalakot-Poonch sector on LoC between Pakistani and Indian army authorities.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release on Tuesday that the Indian counterpart was told that neither there has been Ceasefire Violations or crossing of LoC by Pakistani troops from Pakistan side nor mutilation of Indian soldiers bodies.

The Indian authorities were told that there is unnecessary media hype following the allegations.

It was told that Pakistan remains fully committed to maintain peace and tranquility along the LoC and expects the same from the other side, and hope prudence is exercised and no steps are taken that may lead to vitiating of environment and affect peace along the Line of Control.

The IPSR further said that a routine Director General Military Operations (DGMO) level hotline is also likely today (Tuesday).

Earlier on Monday, Pakistan army rejected Indian claims that Pakistani soldiers had killed two Indian soldiers on the LoC and mutilated their bodies.

The ISPR said that Pakistan army did not commit any ceasefire violation on the LoC or a Border Action Team (BAT) action in Buttal Sector as alleged by India.

“Indian blame of mutilating Indian soldiers’ bodies are also false,” the ISPR said adding that “Pakistan army is a highly professional force and shall never disrespect a soldier even Indian.”
