Following an embarrassing and disappointing performance by Pakistani batsmen, the side missed the opportunity to make a history as it lost to West Indies by 106 runs in second Test match at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Thursday.
Unlike the popular speculations, West Indian bowlers snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as they bowled out Pakistan for just 81 runs which remained Pakistan’s 10th lowest total ever in Tests while second lowest against West Indies.

Prior to the beginning of its second innings, Pakistan required just 188 runs to win the three-match series after West Indies was bowled out for 268 runs; however, the visitors’ top order collapsed, making it easier for West Indian bowlers to finish the game quickly in their favour.
In Pakistan’s second innings, Sarfraz Ahmed remained the highest scorer with 23 runs followed by Muhammad Amir with 20.
For West Indies, Shannon Gabriel secured 5 wickets while Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
Earlier in both first innings, in reply to Pakistan’s score of 312 runs, West Indies was all out for 393 runs. In West Indies’ first innings, Roston Chase scored 131 runs while Pakistan’s Azhar Ali scored 105 runs as highest scorers for their respective sides.
Over all, both West Indies’ Shannon Gabriel and Pakistan’s Yasir Shah grabbed 9 wickets each in the match whereas Roston Chase and Azhar Ali were the two Centurions with 131 and 105 runs respectively.
Since 1957-58, Pakistan has toured the Caribbean multiple times but yet it hasn’t been able to win a single Test series against West Indies on its soil.
The third Test between Pakistan and West Indies will begin at Windsor Park in Roseau on May 14.
