ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday performed the ground-breaking of Metro Bus Link to be constructed from Peshawar Morr to New Islamabad International Airport.

The Metro Bus link will be completed by the National Highway Authority (NHA) in four Phases with a total length of 25.6 Kilometers, 09 Bus stations, 12 bridges and 11 underpasses.

The prime minister also inspected the New Islamabad International Airport.

Meanwhile, 95 percent work on Terminal Building has been completed with a capacity of handling 4,500 passengers at a time. State of the art 15 Aircraft Docking stations are complete.

The International Standard Air Traffic Control system is being installed.

In January 2017, the prime minister directed the NHA for immediate construction of Islamabad Metro Bus link from Peshawar Mor to New Islamabad Airport.

The prime minister was informed that the project linking Islamabad Metro Bus Service to New Islamabad Airport would cost around Rs 18 billion.

The new Metro Bus project will be linked with the already constructed 23-kilometer Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service which was inaugurated in June 2015. The Islamabad Metro Bus also included an Interchange at Peshawar Morr.
