BEIJING, China: Pakistan and China have signed six accords of cooperation in diverse fields including Framework Agreement on upgradation of Main Line-1 rail track and establishment of a dry port at Havelian.
The signing ceremony was held at the Peoples Great Hall of China in Beijing on Saturday, and was also witnessed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Chinese Counterpart Li Keqiang.
The Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) signed between the two Countries are as under:
- Framework of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative
- Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation (1.5 billion RMB for Gwadar Airport etc.)
- Framework Agreement on implementation of upgradation of ML-1 and establishment of Havelian Dry Port in Pakistan
- MoU on implementation of ML-1 and establishment of Havelian Dry Port in Pakistan
- Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation (0.8 billion RMB for Gwadar Airport)
- Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation (1.1 billion RMB for East bay Expressway)
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart in Beijing.
The meeting was also attended by Four Chief Ministers, Federal Ministers, Advisor on Foreign Affairs and senior officials.
In his remarks, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment for completion of early harvest projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The prime minister felicitated the Chinese premier for organizing the Belt and Road Forum and, said that Pakistan considers China as the most important friend and fully supports the Chinese vision of One Belt One Road.
