Islamic State Daesh captured hospital in Marawi City of Philippines
Monitoring Desk: Once known as tourist resort, Marawi City of Philippines is battling against onslaught of Islamic State commonly known as Daesh.
Female Daesh terrorists are fighting against Philippine army that is now using its air force to target Daesh terrorists.
Philippine media report that battle is led by local commander of Aby Sayyaf militant group Isnilon Hapilon (also known as Abu Abdullah al-Filipini) who heads ISIS in Philippines. “Isnilon Hapilon is an Arabic speaking Islamic preacher known for his expertise in commando assaults”, reports Philippines media.
Fight between Daesh and Philippine army is going on for the last four days and curfew has been clamped in Marawi City.
Photos released by Daesh suggest that terrorists have captured armored vehicles after killing unknown number of Pilipino soldiers.
Army claimed that only 15 to 20 terrorists had entered the city but Army reluctant to explain that how could how 15 terrorists have been engaging Army for the last four days?
It may be mentioned that a local Islamic group known as Islamic State of Lanao, is allegedly getting support from ISIS Middle East. Report suggest people are leaving their villages and moving towards safe places after battle is spreading in outskirts of Marawi city.
Marawi City is the capital city of the province of Lanao del Sur on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines with an estimated population of 200,000 residents. Marawi is a predominantly Muslim city following purist school of thought of Islam.
Philippine officials said that a special police force were deployed to the city while local claim that Army is fighting against terrorists.
President Rodrigo Duterte has directed authorities to purge terrorists with full force. It may be mentioned that martial law imposed in Marawi area on May 23 by President Rodrigo Duterte after receiving information that Daesh head Isnilon Hapilon (also known as Abu Abdullah al-Filipini) is present in the area.
Social media reports suggest that Daesh also attacked convey of Philippine Army in the countryside south of the city and an army base was burnt terrorists.
Philippines Army claims that majority of Daesh terrorists came from Indonesia and Malaysia and border police has been directed to tight control over borders.
