There is dictatorship in Russia, claims Imran Khan
Monitoring Desk: There is dictatorial rule in Russia, said Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.
In an exclusive interview with Express News current affairs show Takrar broadcasted on June 13, 2017, Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan claimed that there is (was) dictatorship in Russia.
Responding to a question during his interview, regarding names of government officials China and Russia appeared in Panama Papers also known as Panama Leaks including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Imran Khan said that there is (was) dictatorship in Russia therefore no action was taken against corrupt people in Russia.
It may be mentioned that Panama Papers leaked in April 2016 claimed that a network of secret offshore deals worth $2bn laid a trail to Russian President Vladimir Putin though name of Putin did not appear in any of the records but names of his friends were in Panama Papers.
Name of Chinese President was also not in record of Panama Papers Leaks but the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists that published papers claimed that close relatives of seven current or former Chinese leaders had been found to have links to offshore firms including the names of family members of the Chinese President, Xi Jinping.
The situation is identical in Pakistan where name of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is not in Panama Papers but of his two sons and his daughter.
Sharif presented himself for accountability and provided record of money that was used for purchases of properties in England.
Imran Khan is one of the opposition leaders in Parliament of Pakistan having over 30 seats.
