PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Health Engineering Shah Farman has said that the provincial government is mulling to ban use, sale and purchase of ice drug through proper legislation.

Talking to media in Peshawar on Tuesday, he said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is taking pragmatic measures to stop use, sale and purchase of ice drug in the province once and for all.

Expressing grave concern over reportedly increase in use of ice drug in KPK, the minister said that ice drug is being imported from a neighboring country as part of conspiracy to involve the youth particularly students in drug addiction.

Shah Farman requested parents and authorities of educational institutes to play their pivotal role to curb the menace by remaining vigilant and keeping eye on students and children.

The minister said that unfortunately young generation consume ice drug as a fashion without knowing what harm it causes to human brain, adding drug addicts use ice as a substitute of heroin.

The KPK information minister disclosed that the provincial government would soon present a bill in provincial assembly to ban use, sale and purchase of ice drug permanently the province.
