ISLAMABAD: Election Commission has issued directives to be strictly observed by the contesting candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The directives include that to seek votes on the name of clan‚ religion‚ sect or on the linguistic basis. If anyone found guilty of these crimes will have to face punishment of 3 years imprisonment.
The commission has also notified that if someone found to be involved in bribing the voters‚ he has to face three years imprisonment.
The commission has also authorized Presiding Officers to sentence anyone found violating the election laws on the spot.
