NewsProblems of Oil Tankers Association to be resolved in 15 days: OGRA

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Spokesman of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Imran Ghaznavi on Wednesday said the authority in consultation with all stakeholders would resolve the problems faced by All Pakistan Oil Tankers Association (APOTA) within 15 days.

“Accordingly, a committee headed by Secretary Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources Sikandar Sultan Raja and comprising representatives of APOTA OGRA and other concerned departments, will be formed to resolve the confronted issues amicably,” he said in a brief talk with media after successful negotiations with the association to end the strike.

Keeping in view the public interest of uninterrupted fuel supply, he said OGRA would sit with Oil Marketing Companies to review technical standards and give them appropriate time for their implementation in letter and spirit.

“We will get OGRA rules implemented to ensure safety standards and there will be no compromise on them,” he said.

The spokesman said OGRA would review the 2009 rules for their further improvement and “within a week it will be decided as to what laws should be kept intact and what laws need revision.”
