According to documents, the PIMS administration while violating health allowance rules disbursed Rs 1,870,000 (Rs one million eight hundred and seventy thousands) among doctors serving in PIMS on deputation as health allowance during the financial year 2014-15.

The PIMS administration also bought all required electro-medical equipments worth Rs 150,430,000 (Rs one hundred and fifty million four hundred and thirty thousands) in order to make Liver Transplant Centre at the hospital operational.

However during the financial year 2014-15, neither any liver transplant was carried out in the Centre nor it was made operational; rather in the meantime, no machinery and equipments worth Rs 50,700,000 (Rs fifty million and seven hundred thousands) were setup in the Centre which eventually caused loss of Rs 150,430,000, said a report published on Daily Express.

In addition, a worth Rs 2,600,000 (Rs two million and six hundred thousands) david-emo audio machine is also missing from the hospital, for which recovery and probe, an investigation team has been formed. Though no progress has so far been made in this regard.

When PIMS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Javed Ikram was contacted, he said all these issues had surfaced prior to his appointment in the hospital; however, he added, a summary had been sent to the Prime Minister Office for appointments with regard to make Liver Transplant Centre operation.

Dr Javed Ikram said further initiatives would be taken after receiving an approval from the PM Office.
