ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Security Adviser (retd) Lt General Nasser Khan Janjua will embark on a two-day visit to Tajikistan’s Capital Dushanbe on September 27 for bilateral talks with the Tajik leadership.

Pakistan and Tajikistan have been enjoying wonderful bilateral relations since the former became independent in early 1990s following the collapse of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).

Earlier in May this year, the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif undertook a two-day visit to Tajikistan wherein his talks with the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon reached a consensus on exploring new avenues of bilateral cooperation by increasing collaborating in economy, defence and security, agriculture and education.

During the visit, the two Countries also inked an agreement on trade cooperation while the then Pakistan premier hoped that the trade volume between the two Countries would reach $500 million soon.
