Islamabad, Pakistan: Chairman of Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed has said Indian’s criticism over China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is irrational and contrary to historic facts.

While talking to Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency here in Islamabad, Mushahid Hussain Sayed who is also the chairman of CPEC committee stated that the project of Karakoram Highway (KKH) initiated in early 60s and completed in early 80s and same passage is (was) actually foundation of CPEC route. He stated that India did not raise any reservation when KKH was initiated and now India is (was) crying over CPEC.

He was of the view that Indus Water Treaty which dealt with river waters of Azad Kashmir was signed by India in 60s which accepting the status of Azad Kashmir and now India is (was) raising issues.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed was of the view that India is (was) concern over expansion of China’s industrialization in southern China and Chinese link with Gwadar Port. He stated that major issue is not CPEC route for India rather benefits that China would get out of CPEC.

Commenting on Pak-China friendship, Mushahid Hussain was of the view that China had always supported Pakistan at international forums on issues of economy and security and is (was) time-tested and all weather friend.
