ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Wednesday said only people of Pakistan had the right to decide about righteousness and truthfulness of any leader.
“Only people will decide who is ‘Sadiq’ and ‘Ameen’. Nawaz Sharif doesn’t need certificate of ‘Sadiq’ and ‘Ameen’,” Talal Chaudhry said while talking to media in front of the Accountability Court in Islamabad.
The minister said no matter how much certificates were given to opponents of Nawaz Sharif about eligibility, final decision had to be made by the people of Pakistan.
“And this will happen in 2018 elections and everybody will see whom people consider truthful and righteous,” he said.
Talal Chaudhry claimed that in 2018 elections people would once again repose confidence in Nawaz Sharif by voting for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
“They had elected Nawaz Sharif as the prime minister in 2013 and shall once again vote for him in 2018 to prove his truthfulness and righteousness.”
The state minister said those who had been relying upon Umpire’s finger, were now talking about astrologers. He said their whole politics depended upon astrologers.
Earlier the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar appeared before the Accountability Court for hearing of NAB references against Sharif family.
The Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir had also summoned two prosecution witnesses for recording of their statements.
