KASHMORE, Pakistan: The funeral prayers of the Sindh Minister for Planning and Development Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani was offered on Friday afternoon at Grid Station Ground in Karampur Village, Kashmore.
Maulana Wazir Ali Jatoi led the funeral prayers which were attended by a large number of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders including the Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and people from all walks of life.
Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani, his wife Fariha Razzaq found dead in Karachi
Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani was found dead along with his wife at their residence in Karachi on Thursday.
Police said that the dead bodies of the provincial minister and his second wife Fariha Razzaq Haroon were found in their locked bedroom of the house located in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
The autopsy reports of Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani and his wife Fariha Razzaq has been received by the DHA police but chemical examination report is awaited.
Meanwhile, sources claim that dead bodies were recovered from study-room and Bajarani was found dead at sofa while his wife’s body was at floor in pool of blood.
The initial information gathered from hospital indicate that both were dead around 6 am morning. Possibility of double murder can not be ruled out, said police officials.
Police believe that deceased Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani killed his second wife and them committed suicide. However, his friends categorically reject this possibility and believe that Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani was a strong man and happily-married person.
Meanwhile, the PPP announced a three-day mourning over the death of Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani.
The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal and other PPP leaders reached the residence of Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani soon after they were informed about the unfortunate incident.
The Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani, and directed the Sindh government to investigate his death.
Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani was elected as the member of Sindh assembly after he won the 2013 election from PS-16 Kashmore. His wife Fariha Razzaq was affiliated with journalism.
Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani was one of the most senior members of PPP. Initially, he became the Senator in 1988, and was then elected as the member of National assembly in 1990, 1997, 2002 and 2008. He also remained the member of the Sindh assembly from 1974 to 1977 and then from 2013 to 2017.
Fariha Razzaq was second wife of Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani. Fariha had been the member of Sindh assembly on reserved seats in 2002 while her mother Nishat Afza was the member of the Punjab assembly from 2002 to 2007 on reserved seats.
A lover of Urdu poetry and Bhutto family, Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani dedicated his life for Bhuttos including late Murtaza Bhutto, late Nusrat Bhutto and late Benazir Bhutto. He was jailed in Movement for the Restoration of Democracy (MRD) and spent 10 months in Sukkhar jail. Till last day of his life, he served Bhutto family against all odds.
Having received a master’s degree in political science and LLB degree simultaneously, Bajarani by profession was a lawyer and landlord. Currently, he was also the member of the Sindh assembly’s committee on government assurances.
Political analysts said that Hazar Khan Bajarani was highly educated and an honest politician. They said that the former Prime Minister and founder of PPP Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto groomed Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani, and once told that he saw a mature parliamentarian in the latter.
