ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Monday retaliated to Nawaz Sharif’s remarks in Peshawar Jalsa with a series of tweets, saying the latter considered an elected prime minister above the law and exempted from any accountability.
In his address to a public gathering in Peshawar on Sunday, the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif once again targeted the judiciary over his disqualification and also announced to make legislation in the future – if Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) returned to the Centre will thumbing majoring in next general elections – to halt the way for disqualifying a prime minister.
Nawaz Sharif also slammed the judiciary for issuing Contempt of Court notices to Talal Chaudhry and Daniyal Aziz for their fiery speeches against the Supreme Court.
Yesterday Nawaz Sharif made clear his idea of democracy and of a PM heading a democratic govt was where the PM is above the law of the land after being elected. He can money launder, evade taxes, conceal assets, lie before parl – all corruption is permissable coz PM is elected!

Moreover acc to NS’s notion of democracy, the elected PM can abuse all state institutions, storm SC with his party hoodlums, give judges briefcases full of money – with no questions asked and no law applied because an elected PM is above the law of the land! https://t.co/pivKwLE0eF

The former prime minister also criticized the performance of PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that the provincial government had failed to initiate any mega project for the welfare of public.
The PML-N president questioned the promises which Imran Khan made prior to 2013 general elections, and said claim of one billion trees having been planted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also a mere deception.
Nawaz as usual also held forth with a litany of lies abt KP govt. Fact is there are 350 micro hydel stations completed in KP – all NS had to do was to send his paid hacks to chk this out! As for police, health and education reforms – all NS had to do was to talk to KP ppl!

As for the Billion Tree Tsunami someone needs to remove Nawaz’s ignorance on this & inform him WWF has audited the prog; Bonn Challenge has commended KP govt on it; IUCN has acknowledged it’s success. Such ignorance on part of NS is shameful! https://t.co/btNSgT6nmK
