LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been the most transparent government in the history of Pakistan.
In a statement from Lahore, the Chief Minister said the he tenure of PML-N is marked by transparency, public service and honesty.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the increase in the level of transparency during the present government is acknowledged internationally.
The Punjab Chief Minister said that the PML-N government took effective measures to prevent corruption which have been praised by the international institutions.
The Chief Minister said that the PML-N government made record by saving Rs 628 billion in developmental projects. In the 70 years of Pakistan’s history, there has been no such example, he added.
His statement came when the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Ahad Cheema – a grade 20 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) – over the allegations of corruption in the Ashiana Housing Scheme in Punjab.
