ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday said there was no chance of martial law in the Country, also said general elections 2018 would be held on time as per the Constitution.

In his address at an event organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association honouring late Asma Jahangir in Islamabad, the Chief Justice said there would be supremacy of democracy and the Constitution in Pakistan.

Paying glowing tribute to late lawyer and human rights activist Asma Jahangir, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said vacuum created by Asma Jahangir’s death couldn’t be fulfilled.

The Chief Justice said Asma Jahangir was like his elder sister. He said Asma Jahangir had great leadership qualities and she was a true humanitarian. He said Asma Jahangir always led protests and gatherings held to promote human rights awareness.
