ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman has said that the present government is keen for the promotion of quality education and enhancement of literacy rate in the Country.

While speaking as chief guest the launching ceremony of Educating One Million Out of School Children in Pakistan Program at Academy of Educational Planning and Management (AEPAM) in Islamabad on Wednesday, Baligh Ur Rehman said that out of school children is one of the challenges but it is due to the steps taken by the present government that the number of the out of schools children has dropped phenomenally and enrollment in schools increased in the Country.

Baligh Ur Rehman said that it is highly appreciable that the American Refugee Committee (ARC) has launched a countrywide program with the collaboration of Education Above All Foundation-Qatar to enroll one million out of school children in Pakistan under the Educate a Child program.

The minister also emphasized upon the importance of non-formal education and said that paying special attention towards non-formal education is also vital.

The federal minister said that training of teachers is also very important for good quality education.
