FAISALABAD, Pakistan: The Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday refused to seek apology over his remarks about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) women, saying the PTI leadership should itself have tendered apology rather than asking him to do.

Rana Sanaullah had to deal with severe criticism not only from PTI but even from his own Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) after he while talking to media outside the Punjab assembly in Lahore on Monday made inappropriate comments about the women who attended the PTI Jalsa at Minar-i-Pakistan.

“The women who attended the rally were not from honourable families because their dance moves implied where they had actually come from,” Rana Sanaullah said.

His remarks triggered a strong criticism while PTI announced to stage a protest in the National assembly on Wednesday over Rana Sanaullah statements regarding ladies.

Even the Federal Minister for Defence and the PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir Khan also didn’t endorse Rana Sanaullah’s below-the-belt remarks, saying “Disrespectful remarks about women are reprehensible, regardless of who utters them.”

The Punjab government Spokesperson Malik Ahmed Khan also condemned derogatory remarks uttered by Rana Sanaullah as well as Abid Sher Ali.

In response over PTI’s criticism, Rana Sanaullah said in Faisalabad today that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf should have looked itself rather than criticizing others.

“Is Ayesha Gulalai not daughter of anyone?” he said adding Imran Khan harassed her through messages.

Rana Sanaullah said Imran Khan should have handed over his mobile rather than seeking apologies. He said Shireen Mazari and her daughter were also harassed by PTI.

“I will apologies if PTI leadership do so,” he said.
