CHAKWAL/FAISALABAD, Pakistan: Seven persons lost their lives while 32 suffered injuries in two separate road accidents on Wednesday in Chakwal and Faisalabad districts of Punjab.
In Chakwal, a passenger bus turned turtle near Choaa Syed Nasha which resulted in death of three persons and injuries to 25 others.
Rescue sources said that the injured passengers were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHA) for medical treatment.
Separately, four passengers were killed and seven others wounded in a road accident in Faisalabad.
Rescue sources said that a bus rammed into a trailer on Motorway near Sahianwala Interchange, causing casualties.
They said that the bus was heading towards Rawalpindi from Multan when it collided with a trailer in a bid to overtake it near Sahianwala. As a result, four passengers died on the spot while seven including Mudassar, Abdul Aziz, Irfan, Mubashar, Qasim, Tahar and Muhammad Hassan suffered injuries.
The injured were shifted to Allied Hospital in Faisalabad.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed sorrow and grief over the demise of several persons in a traffic accidents in Chakwal and Faisalabad.
In a statement, the Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to provide best treatment facilities to those injured in the incident.
