ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has rejected the National Security Committee’s (NSC) declaration which in its meeting held in Islamabad a day ago termed his statement with regard to Mumbai attacks as incorrect and misleading.

“It is a horrible and painful declaration. This declaration is based upon misunderstandings,” Nawaz Sharif while holding media talk outside the Accountability Bureau Islamabad on Tuesday.

On Monday, the NSC held its 22nd meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the Chair in the wake of Nawaz Sharif’s controversial remarks published in Daily Dawn on May 12, and afterward a declaration was issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, according to which the NSC meeting participants unanimously rejected the allegations and condemned the fallacious assertions.

While rejecting the NSC’s declaration, Nawaz Sharif said that the time has come to know who has brought the Country to this point.

The former prime minister reiterated his demand that a National Commission should be formed to find out the truth.

“We will have to find out who is responsible for laying the foundation of terrorism in the Country,” he said.

Nawaz said that we have become isolated in the World, and no Country is standing with us.
