Karachi: PPP leader Adnan Baloch injured when Karachi rocked with bomb blasts in MQM and PPP election campaigns. At least four persons have been reported killed and 18 injured in Kasba Colony blast while 22 were seriously injured in Liyari blast.
Taliban targeted election campaigns of MQM and PPP on Saturday night while attacking Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) public gathering in Lyar and Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Unit Office in Kasba Colony area of Orangi Town.

According to initial reports, blast took place at Kumhar Wara area of Lyari during PPP public gathering. The blast was heard in far way places of the city including Garden, Saddar, Tower, Burns Road, Lasbela, and others.

Many persons including PPP candidate, Adnan Baloch, for provincial assembly from PS-111 and his fellows with few women and children sustained injuries in the blast.

According to initial reports, a power blast has occurred near Unit Office No-132 in Kasba Colony; the blast has been heard in faraway places of the city, included North Nazimabad, SITE area, Banaras and other areas.

A second blast also occurred near an Imam Bargah, after the first one, in same area but it was of lower intensity.

The initial reports describe that at least three persons died on the spot while 15 others sustained injuries in the powerful blast.

The rescue teams and heavy contingents of security agencies including police and ranger have rushed to the blast site while emergency has been imposed in Abbassi Shaheed Hospital.

The rescue teams have immediately started moving the injured to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital and Qatar Hospital for medical assistance, where few blast victims are in serious condition, informed hospital source.
