LAHORE, Pakistan: President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif was produced before the Accountability Court in Lahore on Saturday morning a day after he was arrested in Ashiana Housing Scandal, wherein he rejected all allegations against himself.

Shahbaz Sharif was arrested on Friday from the NAB Office in Lahore wherein he had arrived as part of an inquiry in Saaf Pani Scandal; however, he was taken into custody in Ashiana Housing Scheme Case.

In the Accountability Court, the NAB Officials sought the physical remand of Shahbaz Sharif for further investigation. Hamza Shahbaz and Salman Shahbaz along with other PML-N leadership were also present in the Court.

Before the Court, the NAB Prosecutor said that Shahbaz Sharif being the Chief Minister Punjab exceeded his authority and misused his power. He said that the president PML-N inflicted millions of rupees loss to the national exchequer.

The Defence Counsel dispelled all allegations and labeled them as baseless.

The Accountability Court granted 10-day physical remand of Shahbaz Sharif, and directed to produce him again on October 16.

Shahbaz Sharif produced before Court amid tight security

Earlier when Shahbaz Sharif was brought in the Court in an armoured vehicle under a tight security, the PML-N leadership along with workers chanted slogans in favor of the former Chief Minister Punjab. Some of the PML-N’s protesting workers climbed up on one of the armoured vehicles.

In the meantime, one PML-N worker suffered an injury after he fell under the vehicle.

A heavy contingent of police and rangers personnel were deployed outside the Accountability Court.

Talking to media, the PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that PML-N leadership was being politically. She said that one day the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan will have to be held accountable for his misdeeds.

The NAB Sources said that the former Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad became an approver against Shahbaz Sharif.

It is worth mentioning that the former Chief Minister Punjab is also under trouble in Saaf Pani Project Case and 56 Public Sector Companies Cases.
