BEIJING, China: Prime Minister Imran Khan and his Chinese Counterpart Li Keqiang have underscored commitment for a stronger Pak-China strategic cooperative partnership.

In a meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Saturday, both the prime ministers expressed satisfaction at the progress of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and complete confidence on the future development.

The two leaders vowed that the process of industrial development of Pakistan will accelerate with the launch of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and industrial parks.

They also expressed their commitment to maintain close engagement on issues of regional and global importance. They said that the relationship has withstood the test of time, notwithstanding changes in domestic, regional and global situations.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked the Chinese premier for the warm hospitality and reaffirmed the message of strong strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.

Sharing his vision of Naya Pakistan, Imran Khan congratulated the Chinese premier on successful anti-corruption drive, poverty alleviation and modernization of China based on innovation and IT.

Imran Khan said that China’s phenomenal success in the last 40 years that resulted in socio economic uplift of the people offers a great example for developing Countries.

The prime minister extended an invitation to the Premier Li Keqiang to visit Islamabad. The date of the visit will be finalized through diplomatic channels.

The Chinese prime minister also congratulated Imran Khan on his successful election as Pakistan’s prime minister and expressed his desire to work closely with him to further strengthen the “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” for shared future.

Earlier on his arrival at the Great Hall of the People, Prime Minister Imran Khan was received by Premier Li Keqiang in an elegant and warm welcome ceremony, where he inspected the guard of honour.
