ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has strongly condemned the brutal assassination of Kashmiri leader Hafizullah Mir, according to the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency.
The Hurriyat leader Hafizullah Mir was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Achabal area of Indian held Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag District on Tuesday.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said that Pakistan also strongly condemns the continuing Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir including the killing of three Kashmiris & injuries to eight others including three girls yesterday by Indian occupation forces.
Dr Faisal further said that we appreciate the statement of the OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen conveying firm support of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to the Kashmiris.
The Spokesperson also called for urgent establishment of the Committee of Inquiry (COI) recommended by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

Earlier on Monday, while presiding over the seminar and photo exhibition on Kashmir in Jeddah, the OIC secretary general reiterated the organization’s full support to the people of Kashmir in their “legitimate struggle” for the fundamental right to self-determination.
