Two Panagahs (Shelter Homes) have been established in the Federal Capital in a bid to provide basic necessities of life including shelter, food and health etc to homeless people.
One of the Panagahs has been established in Tarlai and the other in I-11/4 Pirwadhai for homeless people including both males and females.
The total sleeping capacity in both buildings is 300 which will be extended.

Earlier on Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Imran Khan officially inaugurated a shelter home set up at Tarlai.
The prime minister inaugurated the Panagah by unveiling the plaque in the presence of his Special Assistant on Media Affairs Iftikhar Durrani, member of National Assembly Raja Khurram Nawaz, Senator Faisal Javed and Islamabad Commissioner Syed Aamir Ahmad Ali.

Prior to that, the prime minister also inaugurated a shelter home for homeless people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Capital Peshawar on December 14.
Meanwhile talking to a delegation of Women’s MPAs in Peshawar, the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan said that shelter homes will be established soon in all divisional headquarters of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mahmood Khan said that later the project will be expanded throughout the whole province. He said that the provincial government will also setup 12 beds for drug addicts in every hospital.
