ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad has said that the Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif should not be frightened over my appointment as member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
In a Press Conference at National Press Club (NPC) in Islamabad on Thursday, Sheikh Rasheed said that he has been nominated as member of the PAC of National Assembly in place of Riaz Fatyana by the party leadership.
Sheikh Rasheed said that being the senior most Parliamentarian, he will play his role as the PAC member actively.

The minister further said that Pakistan Railways is being turned into an efficient and modern public service utility.
The railways minister said that tracker system will be installed in trains by February 12, which will enable any citizen to track the timings of trains at their mobile phone devices.
Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said that Thal Express will be started in second week of February. He said that work has also been completed on launching of two VVIP trains named Jinnah and Sir Syed soon. He said that these trains will be non-stop and have higher ticket prices.
The minister said that he has completed his promise of launching 20 trains in 100 days of the government. He said that it is first time that a fare of mere Rs 1,350 has been fixed for three trains plying from Peshawar to Karachi.
The railways minister said that he will start visiting various train stations of the country from tomorrow in order to assess the facilities being provided to passengers, as well as the complaints. He said that our target is now to improve the freight service of Pakistan Railways and increase its market share.
