ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A workshop on “Conservation of Archival Material” is being held at the National Archives of Pakistan (NAP) in Islamabad from February 12-20, 2019.
The workshop will commence on February 12 at 11.00 am in the NAP Premises at Pak Secretariat in Islamabad as part of a program to train the officials of various departments/organizations responsible for handling valuable papers.
The NAP has invited nominations from concerned departments from all over the Pakistan to enhance their skill and standard of work.
Efforts of the National Archives of Pakistan to create awareness and disseminating practical skills on the subject will be helpful to produce prolific work force for the departments/organizations relating to the archival issues.
The basic function of the NAP is to preserve public record of Pakistan and archival material of historical and national significance to Pakistan. It has preserved the papers of father of the nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Muslim League Record, Government Record, Private Collections, and Newspapers, etc.
Besides this, NAP mounts exhibitions of rare photographs on national days and seminars to make awareness about the Pakistan Movements.
