KARACHI, Pakistan: The rescue operation is underway in Malir area of Karachi wherein a child has been rescued alive from the debris of the fallen building.
Earlier in the morning, a three storey residential building collapsed in Jaffer-e-Tayyar Society in Malir, leaving several people trapped under the debris.
Soon after the collapse, the rescue operation began to remove debris and rescue the trapped people.
The armed forces personnel and heavy machinery of Pakistan army are also engaged in the rescue operation.
Meanwhile, a child named Shah Zain has been rescued alive from the debris; however, his father Hasan Abbas couldn’t survive.
Taking notice of the collapse of the residential building, the Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah instructed the Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani to reach the incident place and personally monitor the rescue operation.
Murad Ali Shah also sought report of the incident from the Commissioner, and said that human lives should be saved by all means.

Separately, the Chief Secretary Sindh Mumtaz Ali Shah also directed the Commissioner Karachi and the Director General of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Iftikhar Qaim Khani to expedite the rescue operation.
The Chief Secretary Sindh also directed to provide best possible health facilities to the injured.
The director general SBCA ordered an inquiry to ascertain as how the building fell and was its map approved or not?
