LAHORE, Pakistan: The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) hosted its Annual Book Fair as book lovers thronged to Gad and Birgit Rausing Library’s annual book fair held on February 20, 2019.
The aim of the book fair is to help nurture and build a love for reading among students, staff and faculty by providing them with easy access to a wide range of quality fiction and non-fiction books.
The fair was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Moeen Nizami – Gurmani Centre for Languages and Literature, who also visited various bookstalls along with Dr. Nadeem Siddique, HoD LUMS Library.
Noted literary personalities, such as Amjad Islam Amjad, Neelam Ahmad Bashir, Sajjad Mir, Bushra Ejaz and others visited the bookstalls, interacted with students and shared their desire to promote the culture of learning through reading books.
Commenting on the success of the event, Dr. Siddique said, “Our youth is our future and our national success depends a great deal upon their individual growth and achievements. Such events are important, as they not only help broaden one’s vision and horizons but they also contribute immensely towards the growth and development of our younger generations by inculcating in them a love for reading and the pursuit of knowledge.”
This book fair is an annual tradition and this year’s fair exhibited books by leading local and international booksellers and publishers.
