ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that India is fueling the tension for political mileage; however, he added that Pakistan would continue its endeavors for regional peace, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

“Pakistan desires peace and security in the region,” the foreign minister said while presiding over the third meeting of Advisory Council for Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua, former Ambassadors, the Foreign Secretaries, International affairs experts and other members participated in the advisory meeting.

During the meeting, deliberations were made on Pak-India tension and the security situation in the region in the aftermath of the Pulwama incident.

The participants also held special consultations with regard to drawing attention of the International Community towards growing Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.

In his remarks, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan will continue to extend diplomatic, moral and political support to oppressed Kashmiris in the Occupied Valley.

The foreign minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan issued directives to release the captured Indian pilot under the goodwill gesture.

In the meeting, consultation on various aspects was also made to utilize sectors such as tourism, trade, investment and education for effective diplomacy.
