Foreign OfficePakistan probed Pulwama incident, nothing substantial found against JeM: FO

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Office on Thursday said a 10-member Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team began an investigation into the Pulwama incident soon after Pakistan received the Indian dossier.

In his weekly media briefing in Islamabad, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal however said according to the preliminary investigation, there was no linkage of Pakistan with the Pulwama incident.

Dr Faisal said they had informed India that they were ready to cooperation if they had any actionable intelligence and evidence that would sustain the threshold of Pakistani courts.

The Spokesperson further said the Indian dossier didn’t claim any linkage of Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) Chief Masood Azhar with the Pulwama incident. He also said de-escalation with India had yet not occurred in the wake of Pulwama incident.

Furthermore, he noted that Pakistan repeatedly offered dialogue to India for resolution of all disputes but the Indian side never reciprocated.

To a question about the tweet of the Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s comments on two Ghotki girls, the Spokesperson termed it as desperate electioneering ploys by the Indian leadership.

Dr Mohammad Faisal said it was the Indian government which allowed the massacre of Muslims and gang rape of Muslims women in Gujarat. He also drew attention towards the gross human rights situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) as well as forced conversion of Muslims in India to Hinduism.

The Foreign Office Spokesperson urged the International Community to pressurize India to halt its gross human rights violations in IOK and help resolve the lingering dispute.
