ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) upon the Commander Turkish Air Force General Hasan Kucukakayuz.
Talking to General Hasan Kucukakayuz in Islamabad, the president said that Pakistan and Turkey enjoy an unparalleled fraternal relationship embedded in a shared cultural and religious heritage.
The president appreciated the Turkish support during recent tensions with India. He stressed that there is a vast potential for investment in Pakistan especially in energy, infrastructure and food processing sector.
In a separate meeting, the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) Javed Jahangir presented the annual report of his organization to the president in Islamabad.
Dr Arif Alvi appreciated the performance of AGP, and remarked that the auditor general office is performing a national service by establishing accountability and ensuring transparency.
The president directed to make the audit more effective by utilizing latest techniques. He said that an effect audit can help save the national exchequer from a loss.
President Arif Alvi noted that elimination of corrupt elements is inevitable for national development.
