PESHAWAR: At least 15 people were killed while 70 others sustained injuries in a blast at a public meeting of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) in central Kurram tribal region’s Sewak area on Monday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
According to reports, a rally of JUI-F’s Munir Orakzai, a former lawmaker from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) who is contesting the upcoming elections from NA-38 constituency, was taking place when the explosion occurred.
Orakzai remained safe in the blast while his security guard was injured.
Rescue teams have reached at the scene and the injured people are being shifted to Agency’s Headquarters Hospital.
