KYIV, Ukraine: The Ambassador of Pakistan for Ukraine Major General (retd) Zahid Mubashir Sheikh during his meeting with the new Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that there are many similarities between Pakistan and Ukraine.
Talking to Volodymyr Zelensky after the latter’s Oath Taking Ceremony in Kyiv on May 20, the ambassador said that Pakistan has a prime minister who is a legendary cricketer-turned politician while the new Ukrainian president was a television star prior to assuming the Office, and both countries have their heads of states who earned immense love from the people of their respective Countries.
Ambassador Major General (retd) Zahid Mubashir Sheikh said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is fighting a war against corruption whereas the Ukrainian president is also fighting against corruption.
The ambassador said that both the leaders (Ukraine president and Pakistani prime minister) were elected by their people because they promised their people to fight against corruption after coming in power.
Zahid Mubashir Sheikh suggested the Ukrainian president to open his Country for tourism as Pakistan has done recently and Ukraine can earn billions of dollars through tourism.
The ambassador further said that friendly border controls of Ukrainian airports can attract thousands of South Asian tourists who prefer to go to other European Countries.
