ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev accompanied by a high level delegation arrived in Islamabad on Monday morning for a two-day official visit which will help deepen Pakistan’s engagement with Central Asia, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
Upon his arrival at the Noor Air Base, the Uzbek deputy prime minister and his delegation was received by the high officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A high level delegation comprising the Deputy Ministers for Investment & Foreign Trade and Transport and other senior officials are accompanying the Uzbek deputy prime minister.
During his two-day stay in Islamabad, the Uzbek deputy prime minister will hold consultations with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and also meet with several Federal Ministers/Advisers including Railways; Planning, Development & Reforms; National Food Security & Research; Health; Commerce; and Board of Investment (BOI).
The visit of Elyor Ganiev will impart further impetus to the multi-dimensional cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in diverse fields. It will reinforce Pakistan’s bilateral ties with Uzbekistan, contribute to building a closer economic partnership, and enhance possibilities for regional connectivity.
