MURREE, Pakistan: The Murree Traffic Police has devised a comprehensive and organized traffic plan for tourists, willing to throng to the mountainous resort area during Eid-Ul-Fitr holidays.

As per of the Spokesman of Murree Traffic Police, all the traffic will enter Murree through the Expressway and RMK GT Road.

The Spokesman said that five roads in Murree Circle including View Forth Road, Bank Road, Hall Road, Kuldana Road and Imtiaz Shaheed Road have been declared one way during Eid-Ul-Fitr.

The Spokesman said that Mall Road will remained shut for all kinds of traffic while in a bid to ensure best possible arrangements, Murree has been divided into five Sectors.

The Traffic Police Spokesman said that 90 Traffic Assistants, 264 Traffic Wardens, 17 Inspectors, and five Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) will perform special duties in Murree during Eid-Ul-Fitr.

The heavy traffic won’t be allowed to enter Murree from 07:00 am to 01:00 midnight. Likewise, buses and other heavy vehicles won’t go beyond Barori Chungi and Bansura Galli whereas vehicles from Azad Kashmir will arrive through Expressway.

The Spokesman further said that parking of all kinds of traffic will be completely banned in front of Habib Bank GPO Chowk or its surrounding areas; in front of stairs; Hotel Ambassador; in front of Lala Zar; from Jhika Gali passing through GPO Chowk and Cecil Hotel till Kuldana; and from Bank Road GPO to Girls Degree College. The GPO Chowk has been declared parking free.

The water tankers and food supply vehicles except truck and heavy vehicles could enter water and city area from 1:00 midnight to 07:00 am.

The Traffic Police Spokesman said that the Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi Mohammad Bin Ashraf has issued directives for all officers and traffic personnel to perform their duties during the Eid festival with full dedication and commitment to serve the masses.

In addition, two Control Rooms have been established at Sunny Bank for tourists’ convenience.

The Spokesman said that tourists may seek assistance and guidance by dialing helpline numbers 051-9269200, 051-9272616, and tourist help line 1058.
