LAHORE, Pakistan: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has been arrested after she refused to appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills Case.
Maryam Nawaz was taken into custody when she went to Kot Lakhpat Jail on Thursday to meet her imprisoned father, the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

As per sources, Maryam Nawaz had been given a questionnaire by NAB based on six questions in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills Case, which she was due to answer by 3:00 pm today. However she refused to answer any of the questions.
It’s the second time that Maryam Nawaz was arrested. Earlier she was apprehended and jailed following being awarded a 10-year imprisonment on June 6, 2018 by the Accountability Court Judge Mohammad Bashir in Avenfield Reference.
However, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on September 19 suspended her conviction.
