Kyiv, Ukraine: Pakistan’s Ambassador in Ukraine, Major General (retd) Zahid Mubashir Sheikh met Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko and briefed him about atrocities being committed by India in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).
In their meeting, Ambassador Sheikh briefed Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko about human rights violations committed by Indian forces and situation of Kashmiris IoK who are being subjected to the worst kind of oppression and state terrorism.
It may be mentioned that US-based International organisation “Genocide Watch” indicated that Muslims of IoK are facing genocide like situation.
Ambassador Sheikh informed Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko that India had stripped Kashmir of its special autonomous status by overturning the article 370. Prior to scrapping of article 370 on August 04, India deployed additional troops to Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), imposed curfew and put the valley under complete communications blackout. The IOK, which has become like a giant prison camp, is in a state of complete lockdown since August 5, 2019.
They also discussed bilateral relations of Ukraine and Pakistan and Ambassador in Ukraine Major General (retd) Zahid Mubashir Sheikh expressed his satisfaction over enhancing bilateral relations between Ukraine and Pakistan.
The ambassador also expressed gratitude to Ukraine for its contribution for Pakistan’s defence and stated that both the countries can find more avenues for defence cooperation.
Remembering past, Ambassador Sheikh was of the view that Pakistan had been a major importer of Ukrainian military arsenal especially tanks. He recalled that both Pakistan and Ukraine also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2017 for the joint production of tanks in Pakistan.
In a separate engagement, Ambassador Sheikh addressed the faculty and students of Turnopil National University of Economics and briefed them about the human rights violations by the so-called biggest democracy of the world. He also briefed them about the consequences of a war between two Nuclear States.
