The authority said that the Cellular Company has been charging and collecting KP Sales Tax from the customers on its taxable services but it hasn’t paid the same to the provincial government in defiance of the law.

Therefore, Pakistan Mobile Communication Limited is being served the Show Cause Notice for Suspension of Registration, and asked to respond to it within seven days.

The KP Revenue Authority said that if neither the Company files outstanding returns nor pay KP Sales Tax on Telecommunication Services within seven days, or its response is found unsatisfactory, then its registration will be suspended.

Earlier, the KPRA also took the same action against Telenor Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited and served it a notice for not paying taxes for last six months despite collecting it from its customers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
