ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The two-day Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) meeting will be held in Bishkek on February 17 and 18, 2020, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
The Federal Minister of Energy Omar Ayub Khan along with the Kyrgyz Minister for Industries and Trade will co-chair the meeting.
Omar Ayub Khan is also scheduled to hold important meetings in Bishkek with his Kyrgyz Counterpart and the Kyrgyz Minister for Transport, Trade and Industry separately.
Meanwhile, in a meeting with the Kyrgyz Ambassador Erik Beishemhiev held at Power Division in Islamabad on Friday, Omar Ayub Khan said that he looked forward to the JMC meeting as it is an important forum to discuss important issues and reach beneficial results on bilateral trade, transportation, communication and energy.
Both the federal minister and the Kyrgyz ambassador discussed the agenda of the JMC and areas of possible collaboration.
The ambassador wished that the federal minister’s visit to Kyrgyzstan would be successful and would leading to yield good results.
Ambassador Erik Beishemhiev also noted that Kyrgyzstan welcomed China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) since it could be an important commercial connection to landlocked Kyrgyzstan.
The federal minister and the ambassador agreed that relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan are friendly, brotherly and would improve with the passage of time.
