ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui on Friday admired the courage and services of the Officers of the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing for helping out Pakistani Students in the Coronavirus-hit Chinese City of Wuhan.

In her personal twitter account, Aisha Farooqui eulogized two Officers of the Embassy – Junaid and Suleman – saying that they are selflessly helping and ensuring the safety & wellbeing of Pakistan Students in Wuhan.

The Spokesperson further said that they will return to the Capital Beijing once the quarantine is lifted.

Last month, the two-member Special Task Force from Pakistan Embassy in Beijing visited various Universities in the Wuhan City to acquire first-hand information on the wellbeing and needs of Pakistani Students.

So far 3,042 people in China have succumbed to Coronavirus while 80,555 further remain infected with the virus. Overall, 98,440 Coronavirus Cases have so far surfaced around the globe, 3,387 people have died of it while 55,660 have recovered.

In Pakistan, six persons have also been diagnosed as having Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, in a meeting presided over by the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza in Islamabad on Friday, it was decided to establish the Drug Safety Research Unit (DSRU) to curb  the Coronavirus epidemics.

In his remarks, Dr Zafar Mirza said that the move is aimed at constantly monitoring the epidemics and ensure the presence of a coordinated mechanism to deal with any kind of situation immediately.
