ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Despite a limited staff owing to COVID-19, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) determined to clear a huge backlog of almost 6534 registration cases timely, as the staff worked day and nights in shifts due to COVID-19.

The PMDC Spokesperson Hina Shoukat said that since the office has been opened approximately 5500 new cases have been received from doctors for registration.

She said that all stakeholders and doctors community has appreciated the efforts of the Council that after six months of its opening, there has been a backlog of almost 6534 from which PMDC has managed to issue more than 5000 cases of registration.

Doctors from all over the country and abroad have shown great pleasure over revival of PM&DC and their disposal of Registration certificates by the PM&DC. She said that so far in just 25 days with minimum number of staff due to COVID-19 the staff has worked day and nights in shifts. She said that keeping COVID-19 in mind doctors are requested to Post their documents to PM&DC to avoid any in Convenience. She also said that due to COVID -19 PMDC is facing a lot of problems and it delayed printing of certificates as PMDC was closed for 6 months. Despite the COVID Pandemic PM&DC has requested the National printing press to issue certificates on urgent basis as the PM&DC certificates are very secure and cannot be copied or forged. She said at the moment PM&DC is trying to issue provisional registrations certificates on priority to fresh doctors as they are already late for house jobs and there is a dire need of doctors at the moment due to the pandemic.

Doctors from all over the Country and abroad have shown great pleasure over the revival of PMDC and their disposal of Registration Certificates by the PMDC.
