LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government has announced to expand areas of Smart Lockdown in Lahore as the Provincial Capital has witnessed nearly 35,000 Coronavirus (COVID-19) alone.

In a Press Conference in Lahore on Wednesday, the Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that seven more localities of Lahore including Gulberg, Model Town, Faisal Town, Gulshan Ravi, Walled City, Garden Town, and DHA would be placed under the Smart Lockdown from Thursday.

She said that in Punjab, 11,000 tests to diagnose the virus are being conducted daily. The Punjab Health Minister said that violators of Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) will not be exempted. She said that we are also aware of the economic hardships of the poorer class. In addition, she said that the provincial government is ensuring the availability of essential medicines.
