ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The number of people having been infected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Pakistan has soared to 243,599, as per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

In the last 24 hours, 2,751 further people were diagnosed with the novel virus while 75 people lost their lives of it.

To date, 5,058 people have died of Coronavirus across the Country with a ratio of 2.1 percent.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 29,406 people have contracted the virus; in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 13,829 people; in Balochistan, 11,099 people; in Gilgit-Baltistan, 1,619 people; and in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 1,485 people. In terms of fatalities, Punjab remains the most affected province wherein so far 1,972 people have died of COVID-19. Whereas 1,677 people have passed away in Sindh, 1,063 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 146 in the ICT, 125 in Balochistan, 41 in AJK, and 34 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

In terms of fatalities, Punjab remains the most affected province wherein so far 1,972 people have died of COVID-19.
