KashmirMishal Malik seeks UNSC Resolution against India for altering demography of Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Mishal Hussein Malik has appealed to the United Nations to pass an urgent resolution noting that altering the demography in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) is completing illegal as per the Geneva Convention (Chapter 4) and against UN resolutions passed by the Security Council for Kashmir plebiscite.

Mishal is a human rights activist and wife of Yasin Malik – one of the most prominent pro-independence Kashmiri leaders.

In an exclusive interview with the Citizen Journalist Network Global (CJNGlobal) in Islamabad, Mishal Malik, who is also the Chairperson Peace and Culture Organization, demanded immediate holding of a census in both sides of Kashmir

Mishal Hussein Malik said that the collective consciousness of the world is needed to stop the Kashmiri genocide in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Mishal Malik said that it is imperative to hold a population census especially in IOJ&K in view of that fact since the last 25 years, India has scrapped a prerequisite section to determine the population ratio in Occupied Kashmir on a religious basis.

“How would we know that who is Muslim or who is Hindu Pandit in Indian Occupied Kashmir since therein Pandits are in very less number, and non-Kashmiri Indians are being settled in the valley?” she argued.

Mishal Malik - The Chairperson Peace and Culture Organization Mishal Hussein Malik has appealed to the United Nations to pass an urgent resolution noting that altering the demography in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) is completing illegal as per the Geneva Convention (Chapter 4) and also must demand both India and Pakistan to carry out a population census in their respective held territories of Jammu and Kashmir. In an exclusive interview with the Citizen Journalist Network (CJN) Global in Islamabad, she was of the view that the collective consciousness of the world is needed to stop the Kashmiri genocide in Indian Occupied Kashmir. Mishal Malik said that it is imperative to hold a population census especially in IOJ&K in view of that fact since the last 25 years, India has scrapped a prerequisite section to determine the population ratio in Occupied Kashmir on a religious basis. “How would we know that who is Muslim or who is Hindu Pandit in Indian Occupied Kashmir since therein Pandits are in very less number, and Indians are being settled in the valley?” she argued. Terming it genocide and the highest crime according to the international law, Mishal Malik regretted that the genuine Kashmiris are being deprived of their lands in IOJ&K and in a bid to alter the Kashmir demography, thousands of Indians are being settled there and awarded the ownership of Kashmiri Muslims’ lands. Mishal Malik said that under a systemic plan, Hindu temples are being built in Occupied Kashmir and Muslims are being vacated and replaced with Indians as a replica of what Israel did in Palestine’s West Bank. “New Delhi plans to settler 80% Indians in Jammu and Kashmir and then hold a plebiscite as demanded under the UN Security Council resolutions,” she said. Lambasting the New Delhi’s Hindutva regime for unilaterally abrogating the Article 370 and 35A on August 5 last year, she said that under the Indian Constitution, the act had enabled the Indian government to administratively govern Jammu and Kashmir; however, after its repeal, the valley remained under no legal cover to be linked with India. Since the New Delhi regime has unilaterally scrapped the Article 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution, Jammu and Kashmir has been converted into a no law land, and now the Modi government may resort to further enhance its atrocities and add to Kashmiris’ plight. To a question about the Indian Hindu Pundits endorsing the voices against New Delhi’s illegal attempt to turn Kashmiris’ majority into a minority, Mishal said that even the life of liberals in India has turned into a nightmare as the seed of fascism and extremism has been sown in the Country to a level that has endangered everyone life. Mishal Malik said that thought deaths warrants of Kashmiris had already been signed last year but even now Muslims and other minorities residing in India are not being spared. The Chairperson Peace and Culture Organization feared that if the peace mongers don’t step forward and a united voice is not timely raised against India’s hawkish and fascist policies, it may lead to a catastrophe and the entire Country will be plunged into unrest and instability. Talking about the Kashmiris’ sufferings, Mishal said that unfortunately, war zones and conflict zones cause human casualties and civilians including children suffer massively. Mishal Malik said that now the number of orphans in Indian Occupied Kashmir has turned even bigger than the total population of Luxembourg. Denouncing the Indian forces for using banned pellet guns against innocent Kashmiris, she said that children were the first victims of pellet guns in Kashmir, causing their blindness. Mishal also told how a Kashmiri woman Insha Malik lost both of her eyes when shot with pellet guns. However, it couldn’t deter her, and her determination & resolve to fight till Kashmiris get their right of self-determination remain intact. Mishal also quoted Isha Malik as saying “You can blind or kill our eyes but you can’t kill our right to self-determination”. In addition to that, Mishal also said with grief that 18-month Hiba was also shot with pellet gun by the Indian forces, becoming the youngest child in the world to be targeted with the banned weapon. In IOJ&K, Kashmiri women are being raped and children are being sexually harassed as a weapon of war by the Indian forces, resulting in their mental disorders and psychosocial issues, she said.
